2. Expectation Setting (The Golden Rules)

To protect exam integrity and prevent escalated complaints, you must read the following script verbatim to the student before authorizing the break feature.

Read Aloud to Student: "You may take a 10-minute Secure Exam Break. However:

1. You CANNOT return to any question you have already viewed.
2. You CANNOT save unused minutes for later.
3. You MUST complete a room check with the proctor upon return."

Action: If the student declines these terms, instruct them to continue their exam without utilizing the break feature.
